Hello, I’m Jason, and I once was a photojournalist. Almost. (whew!)

I’m an enthusiast photographer who dabbles the line of professional. During college I studied Photojournalism at Ball State with dreams of traveling the world as a newspaper photographer. In the early 2000s I noticed the changes toward AP services and freelancers...so no Peter Parker for me...Making a hard pivot into another field, life happened...a lot. I met my future wife, and as we finished college our professional careers blossomed. There was a wedding. Then a few births, several moves, and a major professional upheaval saw us relocate our household to a new metro. I maintained my photographic passion and in those in between moments became a serious hobbyist (and unfortunately a bit of a gear head.) I started back into photography with Fuji X and evolved into the full control of M system cameras. Those X system cameras are still around, but mostly used to train my kids. I love and prefer monochrome capture: the detail, the latitude...the timelessness of it. I do shoot some color, especially now that I’m getting back into film (oof.) I'm no pro, but I've sold a few things here or there. I like to say I shoot for the best reason of all...I simply love photography. So, welcome to my little corner of the internet; worthy of web hosting and some redirected name servers. Here's a bit of me for the world to glimpse if has time to notice. Scroll down to see what I'd care to share. Check me out on Instagram @Dynamic_Rangefinder or VERO (@jacsh) also. I may update it at some point.
